A small handover desk for field recordings
- Open uncompressed little-endian RIFF/WAVE recordings. Select a take to view format details and listen with the browser’s player.
- Add a marker at the current playhead, or type exact start and end seconds. Give the region a useful subject label.
- Export the take-log CSV, per-take Audacity label text or the first nonzero region as a new WAV.
What the measurements can tell you
For long files, peak and RMS calculations sample at most 200,000 frames across the take. The measurement step is shown for every file and included in CSV. Sampling may miss short peaks. The waveform is a sampled peak envelope, not a complete clipping or loudness analysis.
A near-full-scale count is a count among measured samples. Float recordings may legitimately exceed 0 dBFS. This tool does not normalize, denoise, resample or make loudness-compliance claims.
Keep your audio and your log
The JSON project stores filenames, notes and regions, not audio bytes. After importing a project, reselect the matching original files (name and size) to reconnect playback and trim export. Keep a separate copy of your recordings.
RF64, big-endian RIFX, WAVE extensible, compressed WAV and other audio formats are rejected with a clear message. A trimmed copy preserves the supported sample format and frame data but omits recorder metadata such as BWF timecode. The built-in sine-wave sample is original to AppRun; no third-party audio is bundled.

Processing, rights and freshness
Calculations and file processing run on this device. Input is not sent to an API or stored by this workspace. Exported files may contain what you entered; share them deliberately. Use data and recordings you have the right to use.
Methods and limits were reviewed for this release on 20 October 2026. No live prices, species databases, manufacturer compatibility data or commercial game lists need refreshing. Your source records and physical measurements remain your responsibility.
