How the coverage audit counts people
The algorithm splits the event at every start and end time, then compares each interval with the required head count. Overlapping requirements for the same role use the highest requirement, rather than adding duplicate windows.
A person assigned to two different roles at once is excluded from both roles during the overlap. Duplicate overlapping assignments to the same role count once. Back-to-back assignments do not overlap. The report distinguishes assigned people from usable coverage.
Try a deliberate conflict
The sample assigns Alex to Welcome from 09:00 to 12:00 and Repair tables from 11:00 to 13:00. From 11:00 to 12:00 Alex cannot count towards both stations. Change that assignment and rerun the audit to compare the report.
Use the result for a planning conversation
Missing person-minutes are shortfall × interval duration; 30 minutes short by two people is 60 missing person-minutes. This is an audit of your inputs, not an optimizer or confirmation that someone can attend. It does not infer skills, breaks, travel time or legal staffing rules.
Use one timezone and avoid a daylight-saving transition; wall-clock arithmetic does not resolve skipped or repeated hours. Limit: 200 assignments and 80 requirement windows. Export JSON to reopen the roster and CSV to share the coverage findings.
Workflow reference: Undiscovered: overlapping volunteer assignments.
Processing, rights and freshness
Calculations and file processing run on this device. Input is not sent to an API or stored by this workspace. Exported files may contain what you entered; share them deliberately. Use data and recordings you have the right to use.
Methods and limits were reviewed for this release on 20 October 2026. No live prices, species databases, manufacturer compatibility data or commercial game lists need refreshing. Your source records and physical measurements remain your responsibility.
