- Announce before the ink is dry
- Blame Mercury for what a calendar reminder could fix
Mercury retrograde questions, answered
Is Mercury retrograde right now?
No — Mercury is direct right now (Saturday, 17 October 2026). The next retrograde begins 2026-10-24 in Scorpio; the live panel at the top of this page rechecks against your own date.
What actually happens during Mercury retrograde?
Astronomically, Mercury only appears to move backwards from Earth — an optical effect of our faster orbit overtaking it. Astrologically, the ~3-week windows are treated as review season for communication, travel, tech and contracts.
What should I avoid during Mercury retrograde?
Tradition says: don't sign in a rush, don't buy big tech impulsively, double-check travel and messages, and finish old business instead of launching new. Our honest addendum: back up your files. That one is just good advice, retrograde or not.
How many times a year is Mercury retrograde?
Usually three times a year for about three weeks each — in 2026: February 26–March 20 (Pisces), June 29–July 23 (Cancer) and October 24–November 13 (Scorpio).
A quick, honest note: horoscopes on apprun.icu are written for entertainment, reflection and a better morning coffee — not as medical, financial or life advice. The zodiac dates, moon phases and retrograde windows are real astronomy and calendar facts; the interpretations are the fun part. Big decisions deserve both your stars and your spreadsheet.
